At Martial Arts Academy we pride ourselves on our modern curriculum that focuses on building life skills as well as physical skills. This is why we call ourselves a “School of Life”. Our classes are physically demanding and high-energy and our students develop confidence in their physical abilities through regular training. Alongside the physical requirements however, we focus on six “character building” skills that we believe are essential to a well-rounded human being and a successful life. These life skills are Discipline, Respect, Honesty, Self-Esteem, Belief and Communication. Our young students learn to define these skills and learn ways to develop these skills in themselves and encourage them in others. Our adult students will improve and hone these skills and apply them to their goals in their careers, family life and personal life.
Martial Arts Academy offers classes for children ages 4 and up as well as adult classes. The basic curriculum is based in Taekwondo (a martial art with origins in Korea) but uses techniques and theory from various martial arts to put together a useful, easy-to-learn and FUN curriculum. Classes are active, fast-paced and high-energy. We want all of our students in EVERY class to sweat, learn something new and have fun!
While all of our classes have a segment dedicated to self-defense, for those that are interested in more in-depth and intense self-defense curriculum we offer our “Warrior Krav Maga” program. These classes are appropriate for students age 16 and up. Each Krav class focuses on a few easy-to-learn techniques that can be applied in various situations. The training is intense and each class is a workout! Whether you want to improve your fitness, or just develop confidence in your physical abilities, Martial Arts Academy has a program to help you reach your goals.
